Six Things to Do in Kitchener-Waterloo This Weekend

Six Things to Do in Kitchener-Waterloo This Weekend

The wait is over! Team Odd Job Waterloo is open for business, and we can't wait to make life easier for Kitchener-Waterloo homeowners. To celebrate our official launch we've compiled a list of six great things to do in Kitchener-Waterloo this weekend (with all of that newfound free time!). Which option would you choose?

1. Canoe down the Grand River.

It's the perfect time of year to canoe the gorgeous Grand River (read: no bugs yet!). Grab a friend, or even just your dog, and enjoy the fresh air. Canoeing The Grand offers convenient canoe rentals and transportation.

2. Shop till you drop in Uptown Waterloo!

Uptown Waterloo is home to countless independent shops, and offers a little something for everyone - from luxury clothing labels at Sass Waterloo and Channers, to vintage finds at Luster and Oak, to great gifts and home accents at Write Impressions, to hard-to-find books at Words Worth Books. The best part? The worst of the construction on King Street is finally over!

3. Spend an afternoon at the St. Jacobs Farmers' Market.

The St. Jacobs Farmers' Market is now open for the summer season! While there are so many great things to see and do at the market, let's be honest: the best part is the food. Here you'll find fresh fruits and veggies from local farmers, market classics like The Fritter Co. (the long lineups for the apple fritters are absolutely worth it!) and newcomers like Cibo Streetery (three words: deep. fried. lasagna). Be sure to go with an empty stomach!

4. Have a picnic in the park!

Kitchener's Victoria Park is beautiful this time of year. Pack a picnic and a frisbee and spend a day exploring the gardens and admiring the swans!

5. Play a round of golf.

Kitchener-Waterloo is home to several excellent golf courses such as Rockway and Doon Valley. Get your friends together and spend a day on the course. Don't forget to end the day with a cold drink (or two).

6. Attend a flower crown workshop.

Living Fresh is a flower shop attached to Kitchener's famous Walper Hotel that offers private flower crown workshops for groups of friends looking for a unique and memorable evening (not to mention some great photo ops!).

Don't have time for any of the activities on this list because of all of the work that you have to do around your house? We can help with that. Click here to view available home services, and take back your free time!
